Blasting Safety Log

Most jurisdictions require blasters to create and sign and employers to retain a log recording key information about each blast performed. Nova Scotia has the most extensive blasting log requirements. Accordingly, the following template, which comes from Nova Scotia Community College, is based on Nova Scotia OHS rules.

BLAST LOG SHEET

Instructions: The blaster that directs and controls a blasting operation must complete and sign this form to make a log for the blast. The blaster must provide ABC Company/the employer a copy of the completed blast log as soon as reasonably possible and, if reasonably practicable, before the end of the day on which the inspection conducted after the blast is concluded. Copies of blast logs received from a blaster must be kept for at least 3 years after date of the blast recorded at the top of the log.
