When government OHS inspectors show up at a worksite, the first people they usually encounter are the workers and supervisors at the site. What transpires between those workers and the inspector in those few moments can make or break the inspection. That’s why it’s essential to prepare your workers and supervisors to respond to OHS inspectors. You also need to set out instructions for persons serving as your representative during the inspection. This is especially important if the individuals you’ve designated and prepared to serve as representatives aren’t actually available when the inspector shows up and need to be replaced in a pinch by a stand-in representative.
