The Toronto Police Service received a call claiming that an MOL inspector conducted a safety audit of a business and found a number of items not in compliance. He left the owner to fix them. When he returned, he made an improper request for money from the owner. After an investigation, the police arrested the inspector and charged him with extortion, among other offences.
