An environmental consultant pleaded guilty to creating a false Temporary Diversion water licence and giving it to a pipeline company responsible for diverting water from a water body onto a roadway in violation of the Water Act. The court ordered him to pay a $1,000 fine and $9,000 to be put in a trust for the RiverWatch Institute of Alberta. The court also barred him from seeking professional designations from several trade organizations for one year and ordered him to arrange for the publishing of an article about the offence in the Environmental Services Association of Alberta’s Weekly News publication [Stephen Brown, Govt.
