So, it’s no coincidence that OHS regulations require employers who permit workers to enter confined spaces to have an emergency rescue plan, to protect not only the entrants but would-be rescuers. Here’s a Model Plan providing for self-rescue, external rescue without entry and, the last resort, rescue requiring rescue personnel to enter the confined space, that you can adapt for your own workplace.
