A 49-year-old construction worker was operating a compactor at a worksite where they were repaving a section of the highway. The compactor left the pavement, went into a ditch and eventually came to rest against a tree, pinning the worker. EMS personnel pronounced the worker dead at the scene. The RCMP and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety are investigating the incident.
