Federal environmental law requires certain facilities to report their releases of pollutants into the air, water and land and disposals and off-site  transfers of designated substances for recycling to the National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI), a publicly accessible inventory. Facilities covered by the NPRI reporting requirements must submit their reports for each calendar year by June 1 of the following calendar year.
