Hazard Reporting Procedure

In order for employers to adequately protect workers from safety hazards in the workplace, they have to know that such hazards exist. The OHS laws’and the Internal Responsibility System’require workers to report any safety hazards or OHS violations. So it’s important that workers understand this duty and that you have a procedure in place on how they should report safety hazards they observe or encounter and how such reports will be handled.

HOW TO USE THE TOOL

Adapt this Model Hazard Reporting Procedure for the your OHS program and any applicable requirements in your jurisdiction’s OHS law. It covers what workers are required to report and how such reports will be handled by supervisors and the JHSC. And train all workers and supervisors on the procedure.
