Face Mask Refuser Loses Her Disability Discrimination Lawsuit

A car dealer asked a customer to leave because she refused to put on a facemask. The customer claimed she was medically exempt from the mask order and sued for disability discrimination. So, what is your disability, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal asked her. That’s none of your business, she replied. Since this information was so crucial to prove that the customer had a disability protected by the law and qualified for a medical exemption from wearing a mask, the Tribunal had no choice but to dismiss the claim [Longley v.
