OHS Insider makes it easy to reset your password.

Simply go to the login page and click on “Forgot Password”. You will be prompted to enter your username or email. A reset password email will be sent to the email address we have on file.

If you forgot your username or email used to create your account please call 1-800-667-9300 or email customerservice@ohsinsider.com and our customer service team will be happy to help you out.

Searching on OHS Insider is quite simple. First, click the Magnifying Glass located in the upper right of the site.

Type in your search term and your results will appear on the search page. To filter your search results even further, use the checkboxes on the left of the screen to choose a jurisdiction, topic or tool.

You can also find related content on every page you visit – these help you find similar content if you are looking for more than one thing.

We’ve organized our content library in a few ways, and one of the major ones is by resource type.

You can filter these down by clicking on the filters on the left side of the  Topics screen

Clicking on the checkmark next to a Topic, Type, or Industry will let you filter down to just the resources that match what you checked.

Here is a list of all the resource types and what they are.

• Articles: our editorial team and contributors provide expert knowledge and insights on HR compliance. This includes how to comply with upcoming changes in laws and legislation, HR related cases and case analyses, and much much more
• Checklists: HR Insider creates checklists to help guide you through the process of implementing or changing a company policy and beyond.
• Forms: Forms provide a clear and accessible method for employers and employees to submit complaints, concerns and other workplace-related issues. Use our model forms and adapt them to suit your company needs.
• Infographics: Our infographics library is a collection of images, charts, and facts that give an easy-to-understand overview of a topic.
• Know the Laws: Get to know the requirements of HR regulations and requirements in each Canadian jurisdiction
• Laws, Cases and Regulation: Our experts scour through the most recent laws and cases to provide you with an overview of what happened, why it happened and what to do to comply as an employer or HR director.
• Month In Review: These jurisdiction-specific monthly snapshots will provide you with up-to-date information to develop your business strategy by giving expert advice on what actions should be taken as a result of new announcements, cases and legislation.
• Policies: Every company needs to have policies in place in order to keep employees safe, healthy and in line with their company goals and strategy. Use our model policies and adapt them to suit your company needs.
• Quizzes: These short quizzes will help you better understand certain situations by providing a scenario-based question and an expert explanation of what is right and what is wrong.
• Special Reports: Our special reports cover various in-depth reports we’ve put together over the years covering numerous subjects. Usually these include compliance game plans, policies and procedures, articles and more.
• Spot the Safety Violation: This popular feature shows people making safety mistakes, sometimes subtle and sometimes egregious. We then go in-depth on how to prevent those same mistakes.
• Webinars and Videos: We host weekly webinars covering all aspects of HR compliance, as a member you can view previously recorded webinars or register for upcoming webinars.

Some articles have attachments, such as PDFs, Word Docs, and more. Printing these is simple: download them, then print it like you would any other PDF or Word Doc.

However, you may want to print an article that does not contain an attachment. This is also simple:

At the top of every article, checklist, etc. is a printer icon, clicking on this icon will allow you to print a plain text version of the article, formatted especially for printing.

OHS Insider includes policies that you can modify to use in your own organization. Finding these is simple, but modifying them to suit your own purposes can be slightly more complex. We’ll go over some tips to make this easier on you.

First find the policy you want to modify. Each policy will have a PDF version. The PDFs can be edited in Microsoft Word or, if you have a license, Adobe’s official PDF software.

Once you’ve found the policy you want to modify, go ahead and download the PDF using the link at the bottom. Once it’s downloaded, you can open it in Word and start modifying it.

Our PDF’s allow you to fill in your company name, contact info and other important company-specific fields.

It is up to you how you want to modify your policy. Carefully read the policy and make sure it lines up with your company needs. You always add, modify or delete anything in these documents but be aware of the current regulations on the topic.

Once you are done modifying the document, delete the first page and save the document. You can then print, save, send and distribute the policy in any matter you see fit.
