According to the Assoc. of Workers’ Compensation Boards of Canada (AWCB), of the 240,682 lost-time injury claims across Canada in 2016, 15,671 came from Transportation & Storage. http://awcbc.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/National-Work-Injury-Disease-and-Fatality-Statistics-Publication-2014-2016-May.pdf (check Table 15) Table 15 also breaks the totals down by province. Unfortunately, AWCB lists just totals, NOT rates per 100 workers. Theoretically, you could do the calculation yourself if you knew the total numbers of Transp/Storage workers in each province but AWCB doesn’t list those totals.
One more problem is that the most recent AWCB data is from 2016. But now that all of the different workers’ comp boards have published their 2017 Annual Reports, I’d expect AWCB to compile the 2017 totals shortly. But again, no rates, I’m afraid.
Hope that helps and sorry to keep you waiting. Glenn
