Technically, the answer to your Q is no. The Alberta OHS Code doesn’t say anything about muster points or signs for people to gather in the event of an evacuation. HOWEVER, as you can see below, Section 116 does refer to it indirectly, e.g., Secs. (c), (e) and (i). The real point is that muster locations and signage is a key part of emergency response planning and must be included in evacuation and emergency procedures even if the OHS Code doesn’t specifically mention it. That basically means you have to make your own determinations about what’s reasonable in accordance with: a. other laws or regulations that may apply, e.g., fire or building codes; b. best practices for your industry; c. voluntary standards; d. JHSC/consultant/other recommendations.
