    Hello,
     
    I’m aware the supposed Part 1 training for the Joint Health and Safety Committee has been scrapped and the Part 2 training replacing it. The Part 2 used to be something that had to be completed by the co-chairs and HSRs. However with this new development of Part 2 replacing the Part 1 training, would you say the Part 2 training has to be completed by every member of the committee or still directed at the Co-chairs and HSRs’

    Still just the JHSC co-chairs and health/safety representative. The change is part of the new Conservative government’s policy to cut red tape, in this case by condensing the required certification training. Requiring ALL JHSC members to complete such training would have the exact opposite effect. Also make sure you’re on top of the new rules for determining whether a JHSC or HS rep is required for a particular site. Hope that helps. Glenn
