Work From Home

“Work from home” arrangements have become increasingly prevalent, especially in recent times, allowing employees to perform their job responsibilities remotely instead of at a centralized workplace. From an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) perspective, employers must ensure that remote workers have the necessary resources, such as ergonomic workstations, proper equipment, and access to support systems, to maintain a safe and healthy work environment at home. OHS guidelines encourage employers to provide guidance on ergonomics, encourage regular breaks, manage workload, and maintain open lines of communication to support the physical and mental well-being of employees working remotely. Ensuring that OHS standards and practices extend to remote work settings is essential for safeguarding the health and safety of employees regardless of their work location.
