I can probably give you a more specific answer if you tell me which jurisdiction you’re in. Hopefully, you’re in a jurisdiction that has clear OHS guidelines addressing this subject. Please let me know what that jurisdiction is, including if you’re federally regulated, and I’ll do the research.

That should read, and I pay for the extra insurance coverage (Nine dollars a month).

There are other issues that could come up when using a personal vehicle to transport an injured co-worker to a hospital or for medical attention. Make sure that you can use your private vehicle for this purpose with your insurance provider. in case of an accident resulting in further injury to the already injured worker. I do use my private vehicle for this purposes, and I pay

The employer’s duty is to provide or arrange for the providing the injured worker immediate transportation to a hospital, doctor’s office or worker’s home. The vehicle used must have all of the required first aid equipment. If a co-worker’s vehicle does have the necessary equipment, it’s probably okay for the co-worker to take the victim to the hospital. If not, you need to call an ambulance or other properly equipped transport provider.
Caveat: This is my interpretation of the Ontario WSIB rules. Unfortunately, Ontario is pretty lousy on guidance, especially as compared to other provinces. The scant guidelines the WSIB has issued don’t address this situation at all. Hope this helps. Glenn

We are not federally regulated, and we are located in Ontario

The answer may depend on jurisdiction. Can you please tell me which province you’re in, or if you’re federally regulated so I can look up the OHS regulations and applicable guidelines’ Thanks.

The hazard assessment template on the OHS Insider site should work for Ontario. In other words, Sec. 32.0.3(1) hazard assessment requirements are pretty standard and consistent with what all jurisdictions require. Feel free to contact me directly at glennd@bongarde.com, if you want to discuss. Glenn

I apologize. I didn’t see your response to my request for information. Now that I have the info, let’s break it down. Since you’re Low-Risk and 20 minutes from a hospital, Table 2 of Schedule 3A of the Reg. applies, which I’ve pasted below. Column 3 dictates the  first aid attendants you need. I would argue that the security guards don’t count–especially if they’re not your employees but work for the landlord or are otherwise under the control of another employer. In that case, you’d fall under the 2-10 category and wouldn’t need any first aid attendant.
Unfortunately, the WorkSafeBC guidance on how to count workers doesn’t address this situation directly. https://www.worksafebc.com/en/law-policy/occupational-health-safety/searchable-ohs-regulation/ohs-guidelines/guidelines-part-03#SectionNumber:G3.16_1.1 Scroll down to Step 4 about halfway through the document. But I believe having a basic first aid kit and no attendants is the right answer because it makes sense. Basically, small offices doing relatively unrisky work who are near a hospital have no real need for a first aid attendant. It would be overkill.
Again, I’m sorry to have kept you waiting and hope this answers your question.
Table 2: This table applies to a workplace that an employer determines under section 3.16 (2)(b) of the Regulation creates a low risk of injury and that is 20 minutes or less surface travel time away from a hospital.

I couldn’t, but that’s probably because Ontario OHS regs for those particular types of equipment are pretty sparse. Here are some general Canadian SOPs that should work for Ontario:
    snowmobiles, https://www.pdac.ca/docs/default-source/priorities/responsible-exploration/e3-plus—common/e3-plus—toolkits—health-and-safety/snowmobiles.pdf’sfvrsn=a48353f3_4
information about Ontario ATV rules that you can use to create SOP, https://www.ontario.ca/page/driving-road-vehicle-orv
Hope this helps and good luck with your project. Glenn

    That is incredible! Thank you!

I guess I just need Snowmobile and ATV/UTV (I didn’t mention those before).
