We are a manufacturing/construction company with several tradesman working on shop floor and site. We have a cell phone policy in place but it is not making due as supervisors are not always on the floor/site to monitor cellphone usage. How can we add a preventative measure in place' Are we legally allowed to ask for cell phones to be locked up or take away cell phones when employees are failing to comply with the cell phone policy' Our progressive discipline is the traditional verbal warning, written, suspension etc.
