Working Alone/Isolation Contact Form

BENEFITS

Workers who work alone are more vulnerable than other workers mainly because they may be unable to get emergency assistance when needed, such as if they get hurt or sick, or are threatened. As a result, most OHS laws require employers to take steps to protect workers working alone. A key step is to implement a procedure for regularly checking in on workers who are on their own to ensure that they’re safe and don’t need help.

HOW TO USE THE TOOL

Adapt this form for your operations, work schedules, the frequency with which you check on isolated workers and the working alone requirements in your jurisdiction’s OHS laws. Have such workers’ supervisors or whoever is assigned to check on them use the form to confirm and document these check-ins.
