Workers and Roofing Company Fined for Fall Protection Violations

Inspections of construction sites resulted in fines for fall protection violations for the following individuals and one company:

• Steven Wesdyk pleaded guilty to four OHS violation relating to fall protection and other PPE and was fined $2,400;
• Bill Chaika, Seth Johannesen, Justin Lamy and Cody Ledoux pleaded guilty to failing to use a fall protection system where required and were fined $300 each; and
• Roulston Roofing Ltd. pleaded guilty to failing to ensure use of a fall protection system at a temporary or permanent work area where a worker may fall three metres or more and was fined $600 [Govt. News Release, Aug. 22, 2014].
