Worker Sentenced to House Arrest for Defrauding WCB

A former pipeline technician was found guilty by a jury in February of going back to work while still receiving income replacement from the WCB, defrauding it of $28,279.03. The court just sentenced him to an 18 month conditional sentence, the first 6 months of which are to be served under house arrest. He must also complete 100 hours of community service and provide full restitution to the WCB [Govt. News Release, May 28, 2013].
