Title: Domestic Violence: Out of the Home and Into the Workplace
Speakers: Jamie A. Jurczak and Peter Mueller, Taylor McCaffrey LLP
Summary: Gone are the days of thinking that domestic violence and its effects on workers are confined to the four walls of individuals’ homes. The effects of domestic violence in the workplace can be subtle, (such as workers being late for shifts or being distracted by text messages) or overt (such as acts of violence being perpetrated in the workplace itself). These effects can’t and shouldn’t be ignored, especially in light of current legislation and upcoming legislative amendments that not only acknowledge the intersection of domestic violence and the workplace but also impose obligations on employers in relation to domestic violence issues.
This webinar by OHS lawyers Jamie A. Jurczak and Peter Mueller from Taylor McCaffrey LLP includes:
- An overview of current legislation and upcoming legislative amendments related to domestic violence and the workplace
- A review of OHS case law regarding violence and the workplace
- Practical tips for exercising due diligence related to domestic violence
- A Q&A session.
Technical issues during the webinar caused the webinar to record in 2 parts.
