Employers in Ontario are going to be required to provide worker and supervisor awareness training. However, the regulations spelling out the details for such training programs haven’t been released yet. The expectation is that the final regulations will be released around July 1, 2013 and take effect on Jan. 1, 2014. (The Insider will alert you as soon as the final regulations are released. And we plan to hold a webinar on the regulations and how to comply with them in August. Check the Ontario OHS Reform Compliance Centre for updates.)
In the meantime, the MOL has released tools for that awareness training, including:
- A training workbook for supervisors
- An employer guide to supervisor awareness training
- A training workbook for workers
- An employer guide to worker awareness training.
The MOL also announced plans to provide the required training in e-learning courses.
