Two Companies Fined for Machine Guarding Violations

Two companies were fined for unrelated machine guarding violations:

• One company pleaded guilty and was fined $28,575 after an incident in which a worker was injured when his head was pinched in the machine table he was repairing [Rest-Well Mattress Company Ltd., Govt. News Release, Dec. 7, 2016]
• The other company was fined $35,715 for an incident in which a worker’s left hand came into contact with the blade of a table saw while he was working [The Prince Albert Co-operative Association Ltd., Govt. News Release, Dec. 7, 2016].
