Trenching Violation Results in $4,000 Fine

During an inspection at a worksite, an Occupational Health Officer observed workers in a trench that wasn’t protected from cave-ins. The employer pleaded guilty to failing to ensure that a worker present in a trench more than 1.2 metres deep was protected from cave-ins or sliding materials and was fined $4,000 [G and B Sewer Services Ltd., Govt.
