Family or domestic violence occurs not only in workers’ homes but also sometimes the workplace. When, say, a worker’s ex-husband shows up at her place of employment, she may be in danger—and so may be her co-workers. Thus, many jurisdictions are requiring or recommending that employers take steps to help workers suffering domestic violence and to address such violence when it impacts the workplace.
