Ontario: Oil & Gas
Posted On April 17, 2019
March 7: The Ontario MOL proposed a pair of changes to OHS Oil and Gas—Offshore Regulations affecting life jackets and electrical equipment in the interest of OHS harmonization:
- Require rather than simply permit all workers at risk of falling into water to wear a suitable life jacket or personal flotation device
- Require newly installed electrical equipment on rigs to meet 2002 rather than the 1983 version of IEEE Standard 45 for Electrical Installations on Shipboard.
