Workplace violence has become a recognized hazard that all employers must be aware of. At a minimum, you need a policy banning workplace violence and explaining what workplace violence means and how it is dealt with. NOTE: A workplace violence POLICY is a basic statement of company policy and should not be confused with a workplace violence prevention PROGRAM that sets out measures for risk assessment, prevention and response to violence.

This Model Policy on Workplace Violence is based on Ontario OHS law and Ministry of Labour guidelines but can be adapted for use in any part of Canada.
