BENEFITS
Many workplaces use various types of mobile equipment, from forklifts to tractors. Such equipment can pose safety hazards if the equipment isn’t properly maintained or operated. For example, if the equipment doesn’t have functional seatbelts, a worker could get tossed from the equipment in an accident and seriously injured (or even killed).
HOW TO USE THE TOOL
This checklist was adapted from one created by WorkSafeBC for use in preventing injuries while operating or maintaining farming and ranching equipment, such as tractors. But you can adapt it for other mobile equipment and the requirements of the OHS laws in your jurisdiction, including any special requirements for that specific type of equipment.
After completing the checklist, ensure that corrective action is taken to address any areas that got a ‘no.?
