Sept. 26: Worker Encased in Hot Tar

A truck that was carrying a vat of hot, liquid tar came to a sudden stop, causing the tar, which was kept around 200ΓΈ C, to spill onto one of three men who were in the back of the truck. It took rescuers more than an hour to free the worker from the tar, which had solidified around him. The 46-year-old worker suffered serious burns to his head and arms, and was listed in critical condition. The other two men weren’t injured. The MOL is investigating.
