A truck from a waste disposal company delivered a shipment of liquid waste to a sewage transfer station. It was later discovered that the waste contained lead, which in high concentrations is considered a hazardous waste. But the company hadn’t prepared a hazardous waste manifest for the delivery as required by the Waste Control Regulation. The court fined the company $2,000 and ordered it to pay $8,000 to fund a hazardous waste storage project by the Edmonton Public School Board [Canessco Services Inc., Govt.
