Contractor Charged with OHS Violations for Work at Hospital Site


The Department of Government Services charged a contractor with six violations of the OHS Act and Regulations for activities that occurred at the former Janeway Hospital site in St. John’s. The charges are the result of an investigation by the OHS Branch and claim that the company failed to provide and maintain a safe workplace and to ensure that workers’ exposure to airborne asbestos was minimized [Kelloway Construction Ltd., Govt.
