June 1, 2014: Changes to OHS Act to Take Effect


Legislative amendments to the province’s OHS Act received royal assent in the legislature on June 21 but the changes won’t take effect until June 1, 2014. Bill 48:

  • Creates an OHS program and enhances the existing requirement for health and safety policies for certain workplaces
  • Clarifies training requirements for new workers
  • Clarifies and modernizes the reporting requirements.
