Mining Company Penalized over $85,000 for Burning Hazardous Waste

A mining company was convicted of violating the Crown Resource Land Regulations for burning hazardous waste materials at a vacant exploration camp site. The court imposed a creative sentence in which the company was required to pay a $56,000 fine, $11,000 donation to SaskTip, $11,000 donation to the Western States Project and $7,676 to the government for costs associated with cleaning up the site [Titan Uranium Inc., Govt.
