March 14: New National Energy Code for Buildings Released

The government announced the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings 2015, which includes some 90 changes that harmonize the Code with Canada’s energy efficiency regulations and industry standards. Provinces and territories are free to adopt the Code or adapt it to create a code that meets their specific needs. Updates can be found in standards for lighting, service water, and HVAC systems, such as gas-fired units on rooftops, and for ventilation systems in enclosed spaces such as warehouses.
