April 9: 11.5% Decrease in Workplace Injuries Last Year

According to the WCB Annual Report, about 28,000 Nova Scotians were injured at work in 2009, an 11.5% decrease from 2008. Of those, 7,200 people were injured seriously enough that they lost time from work. In addition, serious workplace injuries fell below 8,000 for the first time in over a decade—a 20% decrease since 2005.
