Oct. 1: High School Student Killed First Week on the Job

A 17-year-old high school student was killed at a recycling facility when he was crushed under a front-end loader. It was his first week on the job. He was the third Ontario co-op student who was killed on the job in the past 10 months. Co-op students and interns aren’t currently covered by OHS laws. A bill has been tabled to close the loophole, but it hasn’t been passed yet.
