During blasting for a road construction project, an especially large blast showered a nearby trailer court with debris. Although no one was hurt, the court convicted the government department, contractor and a supervisor of OHS violations, ruling that they didn’t exercise due diligence. At sentencing, the court opted not to fine the defendants because the money would go to the government, who’s one of the defendants. So it ordered the department to pay $30,000, the contractor $21,000 and the supervisor $2,500 to the Northern Safety Network Yukon [Yukon (Director of Occupational Health & Safety) v. Yukon,  Y.J.
