Contractor Fined $1,560 for Fall Protection, PPE & Supervision Violations

A contractor pleaded guilty to violating the OHS Act by failing to ensure workers use a fall protection system and appropriate footwear and all work at a place of employment was sufficiently and competently supervised. The court fined him $1,560. The violations were discovered during a routine inspection of a worksite by an Occupational Health Officer, who saw workers on the roof of a building without using a fall protection system [Glenn Nimegeers, Govt.
