Construction Company Acquitted of OHS Charges

A construction company was acquitted of five OHS charges related to an Oct. 2006 incident in which a worker died when pressure released from a dewatering line caused the line to recoil and strike him. The judge ruled that the company had demonstrated that it had taken all reasonable steps to prevent such an incident—in other words, it had exercised due diligence [Robwell Constructors LP, Govt.
