Aug. 19: Jamaican Farm Worker Dies in Truck Accident


A Jamaican migrant worker at a tobacco farm was killed while driving a pick-up truck towing a trailer packed with tobacco. The incident is still under investigation but preliminary reports indicate he was fatally ejected from the truck when the rig he was hauling flipped off the road. UFCW Canada is using the incident to call for improved safety, workplace and labour rights for agriculture workers in Canada.
