Safety Orientation Checklist

BENEFITS

Although employers must provide safety training for all workers, such training is especially important for new workers, who, even if they’re experienced in their profession, are unfamiliar with your workplace and its operations and hazards. So it’s essential that your safety orientation for new workers is adequate and covers all key areas.

HOW TO USE THE TOOL

Adapt this checklist for any training requirements in your jurisdiction’s OHS laws, your OHS program and the hazards, equipment and operations in your workplace. Use it when developing a new safety orientation program or to assess your existing safety orientation for new workers to ensure that it covers all appropriate topics.
