If your workers regularly drive as part of their jobs, it’s important that you have road safety policies and practices in place to ensure their safety while on the road. It’s also critical that you adequately train these workers to ensure that they know how to safely operate their vehicles.
HOW TO USE THE TOOL
Give workers who drive on the job this handout, based on one created by the IHSA in Ontario, as a supplement to a safety or toolbox talk on safe driving. Adapt it for the safe driving policies and program in your workplace and any requirements in your jurisdiction’s OHS laws.
