Roofing Company, Supervisor & Two Workers Face OHS Charges

During two inspections, an OHS Officer saw workers on the roof who were using fall protection equipment incorrectly. For example, workers wore harnesses but didn’t attach them to the existing anchorages or were connected incorrectly to the equipment. The supervisor wasn’t present during either inspection. The roofing company was charged with failing to provide the necessary supervision to ensure the safety of workers and to ensure that workers were provided with a suitable fall protection system. The supervisor was charged with failing to ensure that workers under his supervision used equipment that’s required under regulation.
