Date: September 28, 2022

Time: 9:00AM-10:30AM (PT)

Speaker: Tony Ragusa, Cranemasters

On plant shutdowns, it is common for riggers to move loads in areas where there is restrictive movement
and space. It is in situations like these that rigging is put to the challenge and rigging products are
manipulated in various methods to achieve safe movement.
This seminar is designed to identify the common products used and how they are affected by the
methods of loading.

This seminar covers:
‘ Lever hoist use and limitations
‘ Manual chain hoists and limitations
‘ Beam clamps and what the rigger should know before use
‘ How shackles are affected by un-balanced loading
‘ How various slings can be affected by attachments
‘ How hitch manipulation can affect capacity
‘ Understanding how much load can and will be anticipated during lateral movement
‘ Hazards that the worker should anticipate
‘ The importance of pre-use inspections
‘ Proper attachments to a supporting structure and limitations
