Respiratory Protection Inspection Form

BENEFITS

Many workplaces have respiratory hazards, such as oxygen-deficient environments, harmful dusts, fumes, smokes, mists, gases, vapours and sprays. The OHS laws require employers to protect workers from respiratory hazards by providing proper ventilation or appropriate PPE in the form of respiratory protection. But respirators will only protect workers if they’re properly maintained and in good condition. So you should require workers to inspect respiratory protection both before and after they use it.

HOW TO USE THE TOOL

Require workers to use this form when inspecting respiratory protection to note any defects or other issues with the PPE. Any problems with the equipment should immediately be brought to the attention of a supervisor and the equipment should be taken out of use until it’s been repaired.
