RCMP Faces Federal OHS Charges for Response to NB Incident

On June 4, 2014, Justin Bourque murdered three constables and injured two others in Moncton, NB. An investigation in the RCMP’s response to the incident has resulted in charges that the RCMP violated the Canada Labour Code by failing to provide members with appropriate equipment, information, instruction and training in an active-shooter event; to provide supervisors with appropriate information and instruction or training in an active-shooter event; and to ensure, in general, the health and safety of its members [Nov. 19, 2015].
