Nova Scotia: Injury Rates
Feb. 25: Nova Scotia’s long-running pattern continues: Injury frequency is down but recovery time is increasing. In other words, workers are getting hurt less often but taking a lot more time to heal up when they do. Those are the findings from the newly released WCB Report for the third quarter of 2018 (July thru Sept.). There were also 29 work fatalities during the first 9 months of 2018, 12 acute and 17 chronic resulting from occupational disease or health conditions, e.g., workplace heart attack.
