Jul 29: Federal OHS appeals will now be heard by the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) rather than the OHS Tribunal Commission (OHSTC). Previously, the CIRB handled reprisal claims and OHS appeals went to OHSTC Appeals Officers. As a result, all OHS appeals are now subject to mediation and the CIRB may also appoint an external adjudicator for reprisal cases. Reprisal appeals and procedures remain largely unchanged.
