Owner of Dry Cleaner Ordered to Publish Details of Waste Violations

During an inspection of a dry cleaner, Environment and Climate Change Canada enforcement officers determined that wastewater and residue generated by the dry cleaning machine hadn’t been transported to a waste management facility. As a result, the company’s owner pleaded guilty to two violations of the Tetrachloroethylene Regulations under CEPA, 1999. The court fined him $10,000 and ordered him to publish the facts of the commission of the offence and details of the punishment imposed in a dry cleaning trade magazine [Giuseppe Accardo, Govt.
