Nov. 26: Gasoline Spill Causes Closure of School and Office

About 6,000 litres of gasoline spilled when a tanker truck overfilled a holding tank at a gas station. The cause of the spill is under investigation. The BC Ministry of Environment says the spill could take a week to clean up, but all of the gas was contained to the station site and a small curb area on the nearby road. However, gasoline fumes forced the closure of a nearby elementary school and an office. Charges could be laid against the tanker company, depending on the investigation’s findings.
