The OHS laws require companies to take steps to protect workers from workplace violence. Benchmarking – that is, comparing one program against others known for their high quality – can be a useful tool for evaluating the performance and effectiveness of your company’s workplace violence program.
HOW TO USE THE TOOL
The School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University conducted a benchmark study of 10 companies with progressive workplace violence programs and compiled a list of the key elements of these programs. Use this Checklist of those elements to determine whether your workplace violence program takes a comprehensive approach to the problem and identify any gaps that exist in it.
